General FAQs

Not at all. ClockMonk works on Windows, Macs, and Linux. That covers more than 99% of all desktop/laptop systems.

No. ClockMonk only tracks time and activity once you have logged into the ClockMonk software AND select a project and choose to track time.  Once you stop the time tracking, ClocMonk will stop tracking any activity.

Yes and No. For free plan, we have a limit of one random screenshot every 5 mins.  However, if you wish to increase this, you can do so by upgrading to a paid plan

Activity levels and screenshots can be used to determine the productivity of remote team members. The screenshots provide proof that the team member is not using paid time to do other activities. The activity levels measure keyboard and mouse activity.

ClockMonk can generate timesheet reports, screenshot reports and daily, weekly, and bi-weekly summaries.

Every time tracking software has a specific way of using the activity level and screenshots. We are ourselves a client to clockmonk. We strongly suggest to use Activity Level to determine the committment of the remote teams and screenshots to ensure that you dont pay for any non-work related activities

No. You can view all the reports in our admin dashboard by logging in using the credentials you have used to sign up with us

The ClockMonk Client can be downloaded here.

On Windows, after the installation of the ClockMonk Client, you will see an icon with the ClockMonk Logo on the Desktop. Select and double-click on this icon and the ClockMonk Client will be launched.

On Linux, execute the AppImage file.

On Macs, you will see the ClockMonk Client in your Applications folder; click to launch it.

NOTE: There are specific permissions to enable when installing. If you run into issues, pls refer to our troubleshooting page here.

Yes, you need a ClockMonk account in order to login to the ClockMonk Client. You can sign up for an account by clicking the Start Free Plan button in the top right corner of the page. We value your money and always encourage users to start with free plan and move to a paid plan after you are comfortable.

This is currently available only for paid plans. Please contact us if you wish to change this. Default settings is one screenshot every five mins

Login to your account here. Click on the Users menu on left hand side.  You will see a list of users. Click on ‘Create User’ button.

NOTE:

1. Team members will not receive any emails. For simpicity sake, we do NOT validate the emails given for your team members and they can login right away into ClockMonk client once you create them a user account.

2. There is a limit of 10 active users you can have at any time with Free plan

ClockMonk can generate Timesheet Reports, Daily Work Summaries, Weekly Work Summaries, Bi-weekly Work Summaries, and Screenshot reports.

Administrators do not count towards the team member limit.

Employers will receive screenshots taken randomly by ClockMonk in timed intervals at their discretion. The employer will also get activity ratings from ClockMonk.

Team Members are able to see the information online that is available to the employer. This can be done after logging in on the ClockMonk website by clicking the My Projects tab and clicking on the name of a particular project in order to view the work completed on that project.

The employer can enable a feature to let team members delete screenshots, but this can only happen before the screenshot is sent. There is a 15-second timer for the team member to delete that particular screenshot.

Team members can generate timesheets and work session charts online using the Reports tab.

ClockMonk can generate Timesheet Reports, Daily Work Summaries, Weekly Work Summaries, Bi-weekly Work Summaries, and Screenshot reports.
